Vail Valley Art Guild’s mission is to promote and foster artistic growth and build awareness of the visual arts in Eagle County.
- To connect local visual artists to an artistic community
- To create exhibition and gallery opportunities for local visual artists
- To sponsor classes and workshops in the visual arts
- To support visual arts education for our youth and underprivileged
- To build awareness of the artistic talent in the Vail Valley
The Vail Valley Art Guild was begun in 2014 in order to fill a perceived need in the Vail Valley for an organization created by and for visual artists. Since its inception, the Vail Valley Art Guild has grown from 10 members to over 150 members, including over 70 photographers, many of whom are professionals. We offer the Vail Valley an opportunity to view the creativity of local oil, watercolor and acrylic painters, charcoal, pen and ink, and pastel artists, photographers, ceramicists, sculptors, jewelers, mixed media and paper artists.
Due to the generosity of the Town of Avon, we now manage the Vail Valley Art Guild Gallery in the former Avon Police Station as a true local’s co-op gallery where we have monthly exhibits by local artists. We also co-sponsor the “Vail Valley Fine Arts Show” with Colorado Mountain College, which is a juried show of local artists this year with an opening “Art and Jazz” event each summer.
We offer our membership two monthly newsletters (one for artists, one for photographers), membership meetings and workshops throughout the year to continue to develop their artistic abilities as well as monthly exhibition opportunities.
Each summer we present the “Vail Summer Art Institute”, which featured art classes, workshops by nationally known artists, events for children and families and opportunities for artists to gather together to paint and photograph in our incredible mountain environment.
We are a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
