About Missy Octave
My favorite medium is pastels though I am currently also using watercolors.
For my oil paintings I have received an honorable mention from the Columbus School for Girls in Columbus Ohio and then an honorable mention from a show at The Harley School in Rochester, New York.
My studies include a summer at The Rhode Island School of Design and 2 years at The Maryland Institute in Baltimore Maryland. I received my Ba in Art History and Painting from Kirkland / Hamilton College in Clinton, NY and did post-graduate work at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont.
I lived in Breckenridge, CO for 14 years where I painted Plein Air in watercolor and exhibited work with a group called Woman of Water (WOW). I now am enjoying painting with the Vail Valley Art Guild in Eagle, CO.
My style consists of painting directly either from life or pictures with soft pastels or watercolors. I am most interested in subject matter from nature.
