The Ranch Project is a joint effort between local Vail Valley Art Guild artists and photographers. During the last year the group visited seventeen ranches in Eagle County documenting a way of life that is fast disappearing in Eagle County. Included with each ranch is a brief description of the history of the ranch in order that families and individuals new to our County get a glimpse of life in all areas of our County. Minturn, Edwards, Gypsum, Wolcott, Eagle, McCoy and Burns are areas represented.
Together with the Vail Symposium, “Ranching in Colorado through History and Art,” will be presented September 9 at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. Photographs and paintings of area ranches will line the halls at CMC with a lecture commencing at 6 PM. Speakers include Professor Duane Vanenbusche, Evan Weatherbie and Danny Williams. A reception follows the lecture. To reserve a seat, please contact The Vail Symposium.
